Million Paws Walk - Ralph the Groodle

Sunday 20 th May was the day that RSPCA put on the Million Paws Walk event at Albert Park Lake in Melbourne. A couple of friends (AW & CF) of mine took their dog Ralph (the MAIN MAN of this blog) along to have a look. The walk is a fundraiser for the RSPCA and by the name of it I think they were aiming at 250,000 dogs to attend and by the turnout I saw I think they would have achieved it. The weather was great and the dogs were very well behaved, in fact I didn't see any dog scuffles. Ralph I am told was great and interacted with the other dogs very well. Which surprised his owners as they know he can go a bit crazy when around other dogs. He seems to get a tad too excited and jumps uncontrollably. Ralph and my friends had a great day and will be back again next year, thanks to RSPCA for putting on the event, and everyone for turning up.

Nine Inch Nails Concert Review - Metro Melbourne 14/05/2007

Image
Here you go fans, Mad Dog Muirs Review of the much anticipated Nine Inch Nails Concert at the Metro Nightclub, Melbourne, Australia 14/05/2007. Its hard to begin with my review of the concert last night. It was defiintely one full of energy and the first concert I have ever been to where I knew every word of every song. I can say without a shadow of a doubt that it is my favourite concert to date. The energy was incredible. As soon as the unfortunate support act had been cleared off the stage the excitment level grew steadily until the band started out with the awesome building sound of 'Hyperpower!'. The song selection was incredible, jumping from the new cd, back though their entire catalogue, even including some great hits off sound tracks like 'Dead Souls' from "The Crow", and 'Burn' from "Natural Born Killers". It really blended together into a perfect mix. Violent high energy tunes switching to emotional masterpieces changing to instrum...

Dave Hughes Goes Banana's Review - 24/04/2007

Image
Tonight Onski and CF hit Melbourne, the Atheneum Theatre to be exact, to see Dave Hughes Going Banana's as part of the Melbourne Internaional Comedy Festival. The show started at 7pm and ran for about an hour. Hughesy dove onto the stage with an unlimited amount of enthusiasm and excitement. Who am I kidding, its Hughesy, he doesnt do enthusiasm and excitement. He was his laid back, casual self in a pair of jeans, a simple green t-shirt and some trainers. Initially he went through some great jokes at the late comers and the people in the front rows. Then hit some of hs material which has the entire crowd laughing out loud. He was funny, but I felt a tad dissapointed as alot of his stuff I had heard before, from Rove, Nova Radio or elsewhere. But I guess he does work everyday so he cant keep the material secure just for the stand up show. And is still funny anyway ven for the second time. Great Job Hughesy. PS I saw your left boobie, you tart. :P

Fishbone Melbourne 11/04/2007

aM i gOinG CrAZy oR IS iT ThE woRLd aRouNd mE? Fishbone Soldiers, what a night we had at Billboards The Venue in Melbourne, Australia on the 11th April 2007. The highly anticipated return of Fishbone to the city of Melbourne. Not since Living Colour hit our shores early last year have I been so pumped to see a band play. Doors opened at 8:30 on the dot and the queue out the front made their way into the basement of darkness that was soon to be lit alight with the flair of The Bone. I hit the venue with the lovely CF, who likes a little of Fishbone thanks to me. But first the Resignators hit the stage for a 45 minute set that included a bit of brass focused punk rock. The six band members pumped hard and I found them to be pretty good but the sound quality wasn't the greatest and that may have let them down. I wasn't fussed as I wasn't there to see them (sorry guys, I mean no offence) Around 10pm I made my way up front to get as close to my rock gods as possible...
